The core theme of this novel has created a very big impact in the world with the characters in the title "Jekyll and Hyde" synonymies any person with vastly different moral characters.John Utterson, a prosecutor hear an incident from his relative, that he has noticed a person named Edward Hyde who trampled a young girl and disappears immediately and appears again to present a ransom to her family members with a check which was issued by Dr. Henry Jekyll, who is a friend of John Utterson. John visits Dr. Jekyll and surprised to see the will of him was changed to the name of Edward Hyde as the sole beneficiary. John is suspecting Hyde is blackmailing Jekyll.
The story progresses and reveals the mystery behind the crimes after the death of Dr. Henry Jekyll. Jekyll once consumed a poison made him to change his personality to another man of devil naming himself as Hyde. After a period of time, he could change himself to his original personality. As the day passes Jekyll is addicted to this and started regularly to switch his personalities. In one point of time he started to get into Hyde personality without consuming the drink and he could not revert back to his originality and finally decides to commit suicide.
