Mrs. Norris’s husband is making a comfortable living at the local parsonage. Mrs. Price is married to a naval officer who is wounded and retired now, leads a miserable life. Mrs. Price is fortunate or rather unfortunate to be blessed with nine children, which they just cannot afford to have.
Mrs. Price requesting her wealthy sister to adopt one of their children, Lady Bertram chose Fanny Price the eldest daughter to live in Mansfield Park. In contrast to her expectations, life at Mansfield Park was not nice to the poor Fanny Price, who was aged at 10. She was ill treated by all her siblings Tom, Maria and Julia except Edmund, who shows real kindness to her.
The real colors of her siblings and aunts break out in the preceding incidents, which narrate the story of cunning, selfish and careless attitude of the characters. The story ends with good note of marriage of Fanny with Edmund.
