Synopsis

The Red Record is a study of causes of lynching in United States written by African-American sociologist Ida Bell Wells-Barnett, who documented lynching in the United States.  She has exposed how lynching was used as a way to punish and control blacks in United states by the whites who used lynching as a silent weapon to pull down the blacks who were flourish and competing in the commercial world of United States.  Ida’s notable writings include On Lynchings , Southern Horrors: Lynch Law in All Its Phases , The Memphis Diary of Ida B. Wells , Crusade for Justice: The Autobiography of Ida B. Wells , and Mob Rule In New Orleans .
