Synopsis

David Copperfieldwritten byCharles Dickensportrays the life of an unfortunate boy from his childhood to maturity. It is understood, incidents of Dickens own life is portrayed due to the autobiographical nature of themes found in this novel.David Copperfield born when his father died six months before, which naturally made his childhood life miserable. The second marriage of his mother with Edward Murdstone and the entry of his stepfather and his sister Jane eventually moved him out of his house and David was forced to study in a boarding school. Life at the boarding school was not fruitful for David, however he befriends with James Steerforth and Tommy Traddles.
In the preceding incidents, his mother dies after giving birth to his step sister, which creates more troubles to him and he was sent to work in with a wine merchant at London by Edward Murdstone. His life at London ends prematurely after his landlord was sent to prison for insolvency. David, now hopeless to find a caretaker for him, finally finds shelter in his only relative and eccentric aunt Betsey Trotwood. Later David marries Dora Spenlow, who dies after a miscarriage. His misfortunes come to an end with his second marriage with Agnes Wickfield, daughter of his landlord who has a true love with David. The couple lived happily, blessed with three sons and one daughter.
