History of the War in Afghanistan is an account of the war in the asian country which had disastrous effects in the later part than when it was conducted. Written by the British historian Sir John William Kaye who had served as Army officer in Bengal Artillery during British rule in India. This work has spanned accross three books which explores the war period from 1800 to 1839. John William Kaye has written couple of novels including Peregrine Pultney, Long Engagements in addition to historical writings such as The Administration of the East India Company: A History of Indian Progress, The Life and Correspondence of Charles, Lord Metcalfe, The Life and Correspondence of Henry St. George Tucker, Life and Correspondence of Sir John Malcolm, Christianity in India: An Historical Narrative, History of the Sepoy War in India, and History of the Indian Mutiny of 1857–58.
