The Swiss Family Robinson; or Adventures in a Desert Island is written by Johann David Wyss based on the inspiration from Daniel Defoe's “Robinson Crusoe”. This fiction novel narrates the adventurous experiences of a family which was shipwrecked in the East Indies, abandoned by the Crew.William along with his family members including his wife Elizabeth and four sons named Fritz, Ernest, Jack and Franz are sailing in a storming weather. The ship crew left them in the ship, escaped with lifeboats and leaving no traces of them. The ship reaches a Tropical Island and breaks. The family find a temporary shelter in the Island and construct a small homestead in the Island with the help of materials available from the ship’s cargo.
The family spends their life in the Island and explore various plants and animals, which are not been seen anywhere. After years they could build a ship and reach home, en route they save an European family from Pirates.
