The Wind in the Willows

The Wind in the Willowsis written byKenneth Grahame, a Scottish author whose works The Wind in the Willows, and The Reluctant Dragon were adapted into Disney films. This novel is a children literature based on animal characters which are attributed to human being. This novel is narrated with four major characters named Mole, Ratty, Toad, and Badger and their pastoral life in the river banks.Mole flees from his underground home, out of frustrating job of home cleaning in spring weather. He reaches a river bank which he sees first in his life time and meets. He meets Ratty who spend his life in the river banks. Befriends with Mole, Ratty takes him for a ride in a rowboat. Rat almost acting like tour guide, teaches Mole everything about the river.
One day they plan to meet Mr. Toad, who is rich and friendly. Toad quickly obsessed and fads with many things, his obsession for boating is faded, now he is fond of horse-drawn caravan. Toad invites both of them for a trip in caravan, Ratty accepting it excitingly but Mole has to be persuaded. As the day passes on the camp, Toad gets faded as usual and while they rest under a tree, a motorcar passed nearby them scaring the horse. While Rat started quarrelling with the motorcar drivers, Toad is now obsessed towards motor caring.
The rest of the story narrates the adventures, after they meet Badger who lives in Wild Wood. When we finish reading the novel, we will simply forget the characters are animals.
