Pamela, or Virtue Rewarded

Pamela, or Virtue Rewardedis romance novel presented as a series of letters written by the protagonist is authored bySamuel Richardson, an English writer who is best remembered for his epistolary novels Pamela: Or, Virtue Rewarded, Clarissa: Or the History of a Young Lady and The History of Sir Charles Grandison.
This novel narrates the story of 15 years old innocent, intelligent and beautiful maidservant named Pamela Andrews who is working as a maidservant to Lady B. The novel opens us with the death of Lady B and the subsequent incidents. Mr. B , The son of Lady B is alone in the house along with Pamela is obsessed with her beauty and innocence. He tries to seduce her by hiding in the closet of Pamela and even tries to rape her. The innocent Pamela escapes from his attempts intelligently and writes a letter to her parents narrating his master’s encounters.
Mr. intercepts her letter and informs her parents, that she is in love with another maid. He takes her to his estate and captivates her. In the preceding incidents, Pamela ultimately falls in love with Mr.B and he rewards her by marrying her.
