Synopsis

Written by the creator of Sherlock Holmes, The White company is Arthur Conan Doyle's intensive effort in creating a historical adventure work based on Hundred Years' War fought for the throne of the Kingdom of Castile. Alleyne and John of Hordle leave their shelter of catholic abbey for various reasons and both meet veteran archer Sam Aylward. The trio form the White company and fight for Prince of Wales in Bordeaux. The story also moves through the romance between Alleyne and Maude, daughter of Sir Nigel Loring of Christchurch.
